Think Before You Pink

on October 17, 2012

We are deep in pink!

With half the month of Breast Cancer Awareness over, you can’t go into almost any store without the pink ribbons pulling at your heart strings.

While the desire to buy things shrouded in pink comes from a sincere desire to combat the devastating effects of breast cancer, the sad reality is that our money, according to many reports are not quite going to finding a cure for breast cancer.

We are walking, spending and giving blindly mostly out of the hope that someone somewhere can help stop the devastation of a disease that affects so many in our sisterhood.

Besides the fact that so many of the companies and their products that have partnered on the pink campaign actually sell products full of ingredients that are linked to causing cancer, the cure is largely within our own control.

The research shows that 70 percent of our health is determined by our own choices. The enormous amount of research is going into finding a cure is grossly unbalanced to empowering women to learn the strategies to maximize this exciting and positive percentage of hope of health and well-being.

As the President of Moms IN Charge, it is my goal and mission to give moms the understanding of what they can do to increase their immune systems and decrease the amount of toxic load so they have the best chance to live a healthy, vibrant life, free of cancer.

Our sisters who have died and suffered and are still suffering are in our hearts and minds and we are committed to supporting them with information and being part of the solution and putting our money “where our mouth is” to really make a difference for the health of all women.

Although the pink campaign was certainly birthed from a true desire to help women and find a “cure”, the truth is, the cure is not in supporting products and companies who are continuing to perpetuate the ongoing cycle of cancer.

“Think Before You Pink” is an effort to help women and people everywhere to consider what exactly it is they are giving their money for and what are in the products they are buying, which could be in direct contrast to the very cause they are supporting.

Decreasing toxins by using non-toxic products in our home, on our clothes, skin and environment that we can control is a first big step toward healthier immune systems.

Early detection is critical and finding the less invasive, safe yet best diagnostic method is key.  Thermography is a proven way to detect cancer long before it manifests as a physical symptom.

Our food choices are such a critical piece to the puzzle of our health and cannot be neglected and overlooked.

Simple, small changes every day can improve our chances of vibrant health.

A few of these are, fresh air, pure water, regular exercise, specifically rebounding to keep lymph flowing, sweating, far-infra red saunas, lemon water, organic foods, decreasing and eliminating preservatives and decreasing all sugar intake.

Supporting organizations like Moms IN Charge and The American Anti-Cancer Institute, who are working to bring authentic change and healthier options to those who are trying to stay healthy or are battling cancer and are looking for options that will give them real hope, are critical to making bringing about a brighter future for all women.
Please “Think before you Pink” this October and throughout the year…pathwaystones
