Green Your Body Up

on March 17, 2012

Today is a day we all mostly remember to wear green lest we get the proverbial “pinch” from a pesky “Irish die-hard” St. Patty’s Day themed person.

So, I am sure as you are out and about on your daily routine, you will see more green today than any other day of the year.

In keeping with the green-theme, how about greening up the garment of your health,  along with

donning a green shirt or other adornments to keep your outward body “safe” from the “ouch”.

If you really want to start out your day with a rainbow, then utilize the rainbow of fruits and veggies and add a lot of extra greens.

You will find that this will lead you to the “pot of gold” in your body which equates to vibrant health and vitality.

It may be a great way to “jump-start” the luck of the Irish in your life and set you on a path of new habits that could lead to a journey of wellness.

Making a green smoothie daily  is an easy and yummy way to get you in the habit of getting drinking your rainbow and depositing true wealth in your health “pot o’ gold”.

Here is one of my favorite Green Smoothie recipes!

3 leaves of Kale or a handful of Spinach

½ banana

½ apple

½ cup blueberries

¼ peeled lemon

1 T Chia Seeds

1 tsp spirulina

Water from 1 coconut (1/4 cup coconut meat from the fresh coconut)

Stevia to taste

Lots of Ice

Blend in high-speed blender and yummy!

Add any more superfoods to get even more nutrients and add more water for thinner consistency.

Tip – when starting out with green smoothies, go with a 70/30 ratio of fruits to veggies, then gradually increase the veggies and decrease the fruit content. This is a goal of more optimal daily smoothie drinking!
