I Have A Dream!

on January 17, 2012

Today we celebrate the life of someone who, against incredible odds, took his dreams from being a hope to a reality.

I wonder how many of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s peers back in his day wished for the same freedoms and life for their kids as he did?

I feel certain that it was most of them.

So, what was so special about his desire that gave him the strength to add the action and perseverance factor to push through?

It is a question that each of us should ask ourselves.

Many of us have a dream or a desire, but perhaps feel it’s too lofty of an idea to even pursue, so we give up, even before we begin.
But what if we could look beyond any limitations and step out of our “reality” into a realm where dreams are created?

I believe each of us possess the ability to break out of our fears that hold us back from our dreams.
When you dig down deep into your soul and let the light of your “why” grow stronger than the ” darkness” of your fear,  you will be able to see the path more clearly of what steps are needed to walk through the unknowns that have been hindering you to move forward.

I have a dream!

My dream is that moms will become empowered with the truth of what is in their food supply and products and make healthier choices, causing a ripple effect, starting a movement of authentic change for our children and our future.

I dream of a place where kids sitting down with their healthy lunches at school is considered the “norm”.
I dream of birthday parties and festivals where the idea to feed our kids processed foods, dyes, chemical and hormone-laden foods is unheard of.

I dream of a country where the cold and flu are no longer common, but rather unusual occurrences.

I dream of a future where children are empowered to make their own healthy choices without any coercion needed from adults.

My ultimate dream is that we will live in a country where the system is set up to safeguard our food supply, products and environment from chemicals, GMO’s, hormones, MSG, and other harmful additives and we will see a dramatic decrease in chronic and acute illnesses as children begin to lead healthier and vibrant lives into adulthood.

These may seem like high and lofty dreams…
I am sure MLK’s dreams also seemed unreachable.
Like him, he did not achieve his dreams alone.
It took an “army” of dedicated people who also believed in his dreams.

I want to invite and challenge all of you to join the movement of  Moms In Charge as we join together to educate and empower moms and kids throughout our nation!
I believe as we share the information one mom at a time, the dreams can become a reality and create a healthy future for us all!

Blessings and Light,
